Irregular Verbs

Irregular Verbs:

There are two new irregular verbs in this chapter, as well as 'sein' from Chapter 1. Here are the conjugations of these three verbs.

sein

ich bin - du bist - er (sie, es) ist - wir sind - ihr seid - sie (Sie) sind

haben

ich habe - du hast - er (sie, es) hat - wir haben - ihr habt - sie (Sie) haben

essen

ich esse - du isst - er (sie, es) isst - wir essen - ihr esst - sie (Sie) essen


As we learned in the first chapter, all the forms of 'sein' are irregular.

The verbs 'haben' and 'essen' are only partially irregular.

• The forms for ich, wir, ihr and sie / Sie are formed as usual.
• The du and er, sie, es forms are slightly irregular and need to be learned.
